"Flip-Me-Over" Two-Sided Dolls
These are my own take on that time-honored classic, the
topsy-turvy doll. Each was composed of a pair of cotton
socks, either dipped in tea or dyed brown, and wears calico or one side, flannel on the other. Their faces are
hand-embroidered, including eyes.
The doll below is the reverse of
the doll at left. She is about 14" tall. Her clothes remove for
machine-washing, but she does
look odd without them ( two
heads, four arms, no feet! ).
